Please excuse the chaos while I am building this new website, thanks!
We owe everything to our families and friends for nurturing us. I was lucky to have had the best of both (ok, so maybe I'm not entirely objective). I attended The University of North Carolina in Charlotte, UNCC. I was very fortunate to have some terrific professors and inspiring fellow students. During the last few years as an art student there the university was experimenting with a program inspired by the Bauhaus in prewar Germany. That resulted in a Bachelor of Creative Arts degree or the BCA. Oh what fun that was. After graduation I went to work at The Statesville Arts and Science Museum as a part of the Third Century Artists program managed by the N.C, Arts Council. This was essentially an artist-in-residence program but I also worked as the assistant curator and educational liaison with the schools in the community. Later I worked freelance before beginning teaching in N.C. Public Schools. After 25 years with the school system I retired and so now I'm back to independently working on whatever I want to take on . Thanks folks
Originally I worked mostly with graphics, primarily screen printing. This often involved photography. I also was trained to be a public school art teacher. Heck when you're an "art teacher" you pretty much have to do a little of everything. But my work now mainly involves leaded Stained Glass, Drawing, Computer Graphics, Design Work, Page Layout, and Carpentry. It's great fun, but I am obviously no Michelangelo!
Our world is pretty dadgum spectacular, both the very planet and the people. If I didn't get inspired by all this I probably should rethink my approach to life.
